I was born and raised in Hibbing, Minnesota. When I left high school in 1965, I attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. A few years later, I had the opportunity to study in Czechoslovakia in 1967 and at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium in 1968. Upon graduation I taught at Our Lady of Peace (OLP), a Catholic girls’ school in St Paul, Minnesota.
In 1971 I started my career as a State Farm agent and I still do that today but not with the same energy level I had back then. I’ve been a member of a few different church denominations since growing up in Hibbing, from Catholic to Presbyterian to Methodist. And as I continued to grow in my faith in Jesus Christ I eventually became Born Again, later in life. My lovely wife Elaine and I now attend Hosanna Church in Northfield, Minnesota and are very happy there.
My favorite Bible passage is 2 Corinthians, 5:21: “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him”. What a sacrifice He made for me!
My hobbies include watching my grandchildren grow up, baking bread, reading crime novels and competing in Masters Swimming in which I’ve earned numerous awards.
